We believe the health and well-being of our students directly impacts their academic success. To that end we are dedicated to providing them with both the knowledge and opportunity to develop healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime. This page will provide information on school and district-wide efforts to foster an environment that promotes healthy lifestyles.

A few things to consider:

  • Please submit your updated Health Form annually in PowerSchool. The form allows the nursing staff to provide over-the-counter medication to a student with signed permission. Also, permission may be granted on the form for your student to carry his/her own over-the-counter medication in school.

  • When to keep your child home: If a fever is > 100, students should stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours (without fever reducing medication; ibuprofen or Tylenol)/ strep throat and pink eye must be on antibiotics for 24 hours prior to return; if the student is experiencing vomiting and/or diarrhea; or if directed by a medical provider to stay home. Please note, if your student has been absent for 5 consecutive days or more due to illness, you must provide medical clearance for return.

  • If your child requires prescription medications (including epi-pens and inhalers) to be taken at school, a permission form must be completed and signed by the prescribing physician. Medications should be brought in by the parent/guardian and NOT the student, with the exception of Epi-Pens and Inhalers which may be carried by the student.  All medications must be in a labeled container with the student's name.

Health Requirements

All new students seeking entrance into public schools in SAU#9 are required by law (NH RSA #141 - C:20-a) and School Board policy to present, at the time of entry, valid documentation that they have received immunizations against communicable diseases as required by the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health or provide a Certificate of Medical Exemption (temporary or permanent) based on medical reasons or religious tenets.

The required immunizations and minimum dosages are to be compliant with the state immunization requirements and are outlined at

Health Examinations

A complete physical exam at the parents/guardian expense shall be required (NH Law RSA 200:32 and 200:33) of all children prior to entering school in Conway.  Students who were previously enrolled in a public or private school in the state, withdrew, and are currently seeking entry into a Conway school, may satisfy the health examination requirement with the results from the previous school record.
